Big Projects

Structured AI Incubation and Acceleration for High-Potential Projects

Big Projects are the core incubation and acceleration mechanism of BRAIN++. They are designed for applicants with credible AI projects that require substantially more support than a Small Project can provide.

A Big Project is not simply a larger compute allocation. It is a structured, milestone-driven programme that combines compute, expert support, workspace, datasets, model access, business development, governance, and monitoring.

Big Projects are suitable for applicants that have moved beyond the idea stage and are ready to commit to clear milestones, measurable outcomes, and a pathway to deployment, commercialisation, or public impact.

Typical duration is six to nine months.

Who Should Apply

Big Projects are suitable for:

  • Startups building AI products
  • SMEs deploying AI into business operations
  • Scale-ups developing AI-enabled growth products
  • Public institutions implementing AI solutions
  • Research organisations developing applied AI systems
  • Government bodies pursuing public-interest AI
  • Sovereign AI initiatives
  • Sectoral innovation projects with measurable deployment potential

Big Project Requirements

To qualify as a Big Project, an application must demonstrate that it genuinely requires a broader support package across five elements:

  1. Compute resources
  2. Personnel and expert advisory time
  3. Physical workspace
  4. Paid datasets and model access
  5. Structured programme delivery and business support

Applications requesting only compute, or only expert consulting, should normally be redirected to the appropriate alternative access route.
