Core Projects are the foundational AI initiatives at the heart of BRAIN++. They are long-term, mission-critical projects that create reusable AI assets, infrastructure, models, frameworks, and capabilities for the wider ecosystem.

Unlike standard applicant projects, Core Projects are typically predefined at programme level and resourced continuously. They are not selected through the standard competitive application process. They are treated as integral to the strategic mission of the AI Factory.

Core Projects support national and European AI priorities, including sovereign AI capacity, trustworthy AI, language technologies, robotics, space AI, federated data infrastructure, and sector-specific AI transformation.

Core Projects are always provided free of charge and are not subject to venture-style economic participation instruments such as equity, SAFE, or revenue-sharing arrangements.
